Would you date someone with herpes?

I don't know how many of you are familiar with those Herpes Meds commercials running here in the U.S.A. The pharmaceutical is called, "Valtrex", and it is for herpes sufferers. As most of you know, herpes, is presently an incurable venereal disease. The commercial depicted couples in committed relationships; one person infected and the other person not infected by Herpes. The healthy person states that they love their partner and intend to stay with them while they are taking this medication. This seemed like a big falsehood to me. If I were married and my spouse became infected with Herpes, that would be the end of our relationship. Period. I would not knowing put myself at risk for catching such a serious, incurable disease for any reason. How about you? Would you stay with an infected partner? Would you leave? What would you do?

    lol a "serious" disease eh? It's not going to kill you. I'd be more worried about HIV but if you want to brand those infected with herpes as unclean go for it. 80% of people have cold sores. That's herpes. What's the dif? Just the fact that it's on the genitals makes it "serious." Oh boy. I'd stay with my bf..but if he contracted herpes from someone WHILE he was dating me...then that'd be a problem. It's not like you have warts all the time. I used to be scared of herpes too until I got educated.
    HIV is serious. Herpes is not.
    Oh yeah, chicken pox is also a herpes virus. You have that for life too. Maybe you just shouldn't have contact with humans.

    I feel bad for people... Especially when it burns to pee:/ that would suck.

    I dont have a problem with people with herpes but I would still have sex with them it doesnt bother me.

    Herpes is GUARANTEED for life, bf's/gf's/spouses are NOT...that should be enough of a reason.
