Where's the option for people who would be disappointed that their partner wasn't honest from the get go? I would break up, because I don't want to be with someone who lies about themselves by omission regarding something as huge as gender.

Yeah but keep in mind it's something that's deeply embarrassing to admit for many many reasons.

Oh I understand it can be embarrassing, but I wouldn't appreciate being lied to by omission, because another person is afraid of being embarrassed or rejected. I certainly don't care to be manipulated via someone robbing me the opportunity to decide for myself whether or not I care to be with a transgendered male. I am always upfront and honest with the guys I date, therefore I expect and demand no less from them!

I totally agree. A transgender needs to tell any potential partners from the very start. It's not right at all to not say anything and make the guy think that they're a girl if they're not. And it's not right to just assume the potential partner already knows like in "The crying game" where when he found out the truth and was shocked, the transgender person only said "I thought you knew". No, with something like that, it is not right to just assume that the other person already knows when nothing verbal has been shared about it. Even if it is in some people's opinion obvious that she's really a guy, you still have to tell him in words before any dating or relationship begins.

If you knew that they were trans before then it shouldn't bother you because you decided to date in the first place.

If they didn't tell you and then transitioned, that would be a problem. For example, what if you were straight or gay, and not bisexual? Part of a relationship is physical attraction, so if you are sexually attracted to only one gender, that is a problem.
If a relationship was just hanging out without those intimate moments, you might as well call your partner a good friend and not your boyfriend/girlfriend. Sex is an important part of a relationship, so if you are your partner are not on the same page (ex. you not being sexually attracted to them), then it would be a difficult relationship to maintain, to say the least.

Hey! We don't take kindly to transgendered folks around here...

Now in all seriousness, i personally would be appalled in disgust if i discovered my partner is a transgender and choose not to tell me that in the first place, even though it's pretty spot on to notice a transgender, either by its physical features or through the psychoanalytic reading of her/his words, voice tone and body language.

On a side note, i'd rather have an attractive transgender girlfriend with a penis than one with a disfigured vagina and no uterus.

You can tell usually because of them having bigger hands, broader shoulders and jawline, Adams apple, they're usually taller, and the voice is a more obvious falsetta sounding women's voice or it is noticeably lower than most women's voices. Sometimes, however, it can be catchy whether you can tell 100% or not, because there are some real women who have lower voices than many others. Look at examples like Whoopi Goldberg.
Overall, even when there are pretty good givaways, it is still not right to not tell the other person and to assume they're figuring it out themselves. Like I said, some real women can have lower voices, broader shoulders, bigger hands, and be taller.

Right you are mate, there are a few exceptions to the case where it's really hard to tell, like an hermaphrodite for example. There are some really beautiful transvestites out there, but the makeup is usually their key to maintain a good appearance.

depends on their honesty, i wouldn't like it if i wasn't told the truth, if there was an attraction then i wouldnt end a relationship based on past gender.

If I was attracted to them initially and we had good vibes, it wouldn't bother me.

I don't think it necessarily makes you "gay", especially if the person passes very well as their lived gender. I'm gay (very, like exclusively attracted to men) and I wouldn't consider it a "straight" relationship if I was with a transman who looked like a straight-up man.

I see the argument that it does affect your chances of reproducing, as most trans people are infertile. But for me it's not like I was ever having kids anyway so...

To me it does not matter if they are MtF or FtM. As long as they were up front about it from the beginning and didn't try to hide or it lie about it. But breaking up with them simply because they have had transition therapy is stupid, petty, and cold hearted. I don't see Male or Female, just their soul. I consider myself Trans MtF and still have by "bits and pieces" with no plan to change that. I still prefer women. It doesn't matter if they are genetic women or other transgender women. Even if the person is another MtF trans woman with her "bits and pieces", I'd still consider her female, and as long as she was open and honest with me, I'd be okay with that!

But you're not a woman. You're a man who likes feminine things. How can you (or maybe not you specifically, but others) say they're a man trapped in a woman's body when they've never been in a woman's body? No. They're a man who likes feminine clothes, acting feminine, etc. Homosexuality is on a spectrum and that's just one end of the spectrum. Still a guy, even if you get surgery. Why do people care so much about being called a different word? Not even necessarily homosexual. You can like feminine things and also like being with women. That doesn't make you a "lesbian" because you're a man.

Only people who get to choose their gender are people born with both a penis and a vagina. Everyone else needs to just accept what they are. You can dress like a woman, get a vagina and fake tits and ask me to call you Susan, and I will. But if you were born with a penis you are a man. Period.

It is not cold hearted to not want sexual relations with someone for being a transgender appearing as a woman but really being a guy. I mean, is it cold hearted for a woman to not want sexual relations with a guy for not being tall enough, muscular enough, rugged enough? Most would say no. Women have every right to choose who to be sexual with and no one calls that cold hearted and they shouldn't, so how is it cold hearted for a guy to not want sexual relations with someone who sorta appears as a girl but isn't? It really is all the same thing, everybody has the right to choose who to have sexual relations with. As long as no one is being downright hateful to someone for any of those reasons

Where's the "Only if they lied about it beforehand" option?

If there was actually a "trans" "woman" attractive enough to fool me into thinking she was a real woman I wouldn't care what she was before, because I am a sexual deviant and I want a partner for sex and a friend. So if I already knew they were "trans" I wouldn't care.

If this magical "trans" person existed that actually looked like a woman and fooled me, and then told me they used to be a man, yes, I'd be pissed. Depending on how attached I was I would probably break up with them. That's a massive violation of trust and you don't get a pass because you're mentally ill and chopped your genitals to bits.

The only way that you could be fooled by a female to male transgender person is if you were a virgin and had never been on the internet looking at real penises which I think anyone would do being curious about sex if they had never had it before dont you agree?

Here is an article from the Internet. I had to look it up now that it was brought up.

Sex reassignment surgery has certainly come a long way in the last few decades; however, there are limitations to what modern medicine can achieve. In particular, creating a functional penis is one of the biggest challenges for persons who want to surgically transition from female to male (FTM). There are actually two different surgical procedures one might opt for in this case. One is metoidioplasty, which essentially involves transforming the clitoris into a penis. The first step is to enlarge the clitoris through hormone therapy (treatment with testosterone can increase its size). Afterward, the internal suspensory ligament is cut, allowing more of the clitoris to fall outside of the body. If desired, the urethra can be lengthened and routed through the newly formed penis. In addition, a scrotoplasty is usually performed, in which the labia are sutured together to form a scrotum and testicular implants are inserted. The primary advantage of metoidioplasty is that it takes advantage of the natural presence of erectile tissue in the clitoris, which means that the resulting penis has its own erectile capabilities. However, the primary disadvantage is that the size of the clitoris can only be increased so much and, for those who want to perform penetrative intercourse, the penis may not be large enough for this purpose.

If the person transitioning desires a bigger penis, the other option would be phalloplasty. This involves taking skin grafts from other bodily areas and using them to create a penis. Again, the urethra can be lengthened and routed through the penis and a scrotoplasty can be performed. Although phalloplasty may yield a larger penis, it would not be capable of natural erection because it is simply not possible for doctors to create erectile tissue from scratch. However, a penile implant can be inserted, much like those that would be used in biological men who have incurable cases of erectile dysfunction.
