Would you be insulted as the 27 year old?

Would you be insulted as the 27 year old in this scenario?

The 27 year old man works in an office as the assistant to a 35 year old man.

The 35 year old man constantly refers to his 27 year old assistant as "kid" and "kiddo".

Example: "Thanks kid" , "Any plans for the weekend kiddo?"

If you don't like it, then tell him.

If whoever said "kiddo" was like 50, or older. No problem.
I'm 26, so to you I could be "kiddo".

But if the age gap is less than 15-20 years it seems a bit odd.
I wouldn't get insulted, I don't mind nicknames, but if someone aged 32 said "kid" to me, I'd give them an odd look.

Yeah I was thinking the same. If he's old you probably seem like a kid to him.

  • It wouldn’t bother me to much. I still get called to young to even work and surprised I drive. I get it a lot so it would be nothing out of the ordinary. Although it can get annoying. It’ll be a compliment at some point.

I call anyone younger than me kid/child. I am also 23 so I am still closer in age to that of an actual child.

Kiddo would get annoying. But if it's this guys slang for anyone younger than him so be it.

Why would you get mad that people think you're younger then you are?
