Would it be weird to wear western clothes in public in florida?

I live in Sarasota, Florida. I'm originaly from Ohio, and I like to wear the whole western thing, you know, the wranglers, button shirts, hat and boots, but I think I might get a lot of hostil recognition if I were to wear this out in public. I really want to be myself, but is it worth public humiliation? Am I normal?

Is It Normal?

  • Why? That's so gross. That's an insult to fashion. Don't ever do it. Not even at home.

  • It's not exactly normal to wear those clothes anywhere, so not specifically in florida.

  • Maybe more north of Florida but not in the south. I only see some Mexicans dress that way. Maybe you should move to Texas :)

  • I don't know about the rest of Florida but if you tried that in Miami people will look at you like you're out of your damn mind.

  • people are rednecks in florida. i think. well that is what my hubby says because he grew up in florida. i just think it depnds what area in florida that you live in. i could ask my hubby if you tell me what city you live in. i don't think you should worry too much about that. be yourself. and if ppl can't accept you for yourself they are not worth your time!

  • I can't see why people would be hostile to you. I think it's normal to feel some concern, but don't be anxious about it. Is there a friend you have that is a native Floridian you can ask? I think you'll find your friend will tell you that you are concerned for nothing. Take care.
