Would it be possible i'm pregnant

When my period started this month I started taking birth control (tricyclen) and I took it every day at different times and I missed like two, I had only been taking it for three weeks and it made my period last 3 weeks so I stopped taking it on Tuesday and my period lightnened up because it was so heavy and then stopped I think yesterday, so yesterday I had unprotected sex and I was wondering if there is a chance that I could be pregnant , I doubt it though right? I had a little spotting after and this morning but I think it could have been from the sex !since my periods was that long and messed up that means that I'm most likely not pregnant ?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • I think it's most likely that you're an idiot. Go buy a pregnancy test in a few weeks. I can't tell through my screen whether or not you're pregnant.

    • I agree with this too (you're up to 11 now)
But don't wait a few weeks, do it straight away. Then retest a few days later.

Waiting 'weeks' obviously lowers your options of 'the day after pill', 'medical abortion' (similar to day after pill), and obviously normal abortion.
There are laws on this too.

The most thorough test is done at the doctors.
Where they can also check you for STIs for having unprotected sex. I mean condoms come in colors, flavors, sizes, rugged or smooth; there's no reason not to wear one, unless its a 'planned' pregnancy.

  • No contraception is 100% effective so yes, you could be pregnant.

If your pill is 96% effective then essentially, one time in twenty five, you're having sex that could lead to pregnancy. If a condom is 98% effective, then it's one time in fifty.

However, if you use them both, they work as force multipliers, so it's only one time in 1250 (99.9% effectiveness).

No form of contraception is guaranteed to stop you getting pregnant.

  • Go on their website or read the pamphlet you got with the pills. (Well, kinda too late for that but still.)

They're most effective when you take them every day same time.

When you missed two pills did you read your pamphlet to see what to do and did you do what it said? If you missed one pill you should have taken it right away then took that days pill at your regular time...but you hadn't been taking it at the same time each day....

If you missed two in a row there are certain instructions for that depending on what week your on.

  • Think of the day your period usually starts. Now count 14 days after that. That day the day before and after it, are the only days you can get pregnant. Or atleadt an estimate of when. You can only get preggers when you ovulate. However, you're situation ahs put your body into a mess! You could be. Birth control pills (Not a commonly known fact) #1only work that 98% if you've been taking it properly for 3 months. #2 if you take them the perfect time apart and #3 if you're taking the pill that's rigth for you. I have a firends who took the pill and it got her pregnaqnt because she had less hormones than a normal person,a nd the pill brought it up to fertile range. There are so many different types if BC so if the one your taking makes you weird, you need a new pill.

  • Take a freaking pregnancy test.

  • get a pregnancy test.

if you come up negative go get yourself an alarm clock to remind yourself to take your pills.

if you're going to engage in adult activities you need to play the part of an adult and be responsible with your birth control.

you also need to learn about the fact that your body will "make up" for the periods when you weren't dropping eggs. Meaning that, if a woman goes off the pill in order to get pregnant she should wait a period or two before trying to conceive because during those first two cycles she'll likely drop more eggs - meaning she has a risk of having twins (or more).

what does this mean for you? It means if you have spotty and lazy habits with taking the pill, you run the risk of not just getting pregnant, but on having a multiple pregnancy.

  • Get off the internet and see a doctor.

  • There is a small chance yes, since you weren't taking your contraception properly. But if you start bleeding heavily, then I don't think a embryo even has a chance on implanting in your womb. The embryo would be flushed out.
BUT take a pregnancy test to be sure. You can buy them from dollar/pound shops if you're that desperate so there's no excuse why you shouldn't take a test.

  • In order for the pill to work as a pregnancy-preventer you have to take it every single day at the *exact* same time each day. Each time you deviate from taking it the proper way, the percentage of effectiveness drops.

Here's an article for you to read, that's written by a medical doctor:

    http://contraception.about.com/od/contraceptionmyths/tp/pillmyths.htm

"The Most Risky Time to Miss a Pill is in the Middle of the Pack

This myth reflects the idea that a woman's most fertile time (if she has a typical cycle) is during days 8-19 of her cycle. You need to remember though, that when you use the pill, you do not have a normal menstrual cycle because you DO NOT ovulate. This means that there is not a time when you would be more fertile.

If you use a "typical" 28-day (4 week) combination birth control pill pack, you need to take 7 consecutive days of active pills in order to to prevent ovulation. You can then miss the last 7 days of the pill pack without the risk of ovulation or pregnancy (this is what occurs during the placebo/reminder pill week of a cycle: no ovulation = no egg for a sperm to fertilize = no chance of becoming pregnant). Given that the first week (week 1) of taking pills is the most critical, it is less risky to miss pills in the middle of a pack (weeks 2 and 3). The most unsafe time to forget a pill is at the beginning of the pack or at the very end. If you forget to start your next pack on time, it extends the pill-free/placebo week past 7 days.

Women who miss pills near the end of their pack may mistakenly think that it doesn't matter since they are about to have their period. Missing pills at the end of week 4 may mean that you have not taken enough pills (to have accumulated enough hormones) to stop ovulation during the next month."
