Woud you be mad if someone had sex with you while you were sleep?

To be more precise, if your Boyfriend/Girlfriend/Significant other had sex with you while you were asleep would you be upset?

I'm just curious to know how many people would get mad about this.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • I think a lot of people missed the "significant other" part of the description and just skipped to being angry in the comment section. It's not just some random passerby.

If my significant other had sex with me while I was asleep, I wouldn't be mad at all. Unless she didn't use a condom, but that's a different issue. Why would I choose her as my girlfriend in the first place if I would jump to call her a rapist just because she had sex with me while I'm sleeping?

I think this may just be one of those questions that girls and guys will answer oppositely.

  • No not if it was my girlfriend, we've actually discussed it so I guess we both technically have consent.

    • Upvoted you to bring you back up to one. This comment didn't deserve a downvote.

    • Also whoever is downvoting anyone who wouldn't mind, go fuck yourself.

  • Yep and I'd make sure to press charges and make sure the rapist rots in jail.

    • Good luck with that, I tried to get someone charged for exactly that when I woke up and tried to get him to stop: cops wouldn't charge him

      • That's utterly disgusting. No matter what the circumstance, sex without consent is rape.

        • Yep and what's more I have an intervention order against him (we both live in the same town) and he breached it badly just before xmas and the cops won't charge him with that either

          • That's awful and I'm sorry to hear that. Are you thinking of lawyering it up to get them to listen?

            • Lawyers can't make cops do their job if they don't want to do it. If I could afford it I could initiate a civil case against the perpetrator but I can't afford it and there's no legal aid for that.

The excuses given by the cops are firstly that there were no witnesses: well no, would he have tried to run me over with his truck if there had been anyone watching? Secondly, if they charge him and he's not convicted there might be costs awarded against the police, to which I pointed out it won't come out of their pockets and the government can afford it.

    • Did you read the whole post or just the title, sheesh? Crazy feminazis.

My answer is no I wouldn't be upset. But I imagine it would be pretty hard (no pun intended) to have sex while asleep.

      A stranger now that's a different story.

      • Rape, whether or not this specific case is so, does NOT have to be done by a stranger. By definition, rape is "unlawful sexual intercourse or any other sexual penetration of the vagina, anus, or mouth of another person, with or without force, by a sex organ, other body part, or foreign object, without the consent of the victim."

Never do I see the phrase "by a stranger" in that. A partner CAN rape the corresponding significant other - and in this situation, if they didn't give consent in advanced for specially having sex with them while sleeping, then it's rape.

And one question - how is she a "crazy feminazi"? Because I don't think she ever brought up women's rights or let alone a single gender pronoun in her comment. Her statement itself is sexless.

        • Perfect Feminazi response. The question wasn't about the legal justification for rape..

The question was if your Boyfriend or Girlfriend did it would you be mad. Cuntsicles said she'd press charges.. On her BF.. for trying to have sex while she's asleep..

Please.. Almost no males would press charges on their girlfriend if they answered honestly. That's some cold hearted shit. It's one thing to be mad.. or tell him to gtfo you.. but that wasn't the question.

It was if your significant other tried to have sex with you while you were asleep?

          • I'm not trolling at all honey. If you would have someone arrested that you "loved" --i'm assuming you'd love your boyfriend here... for merely trying to have sex with you while your asleep? That's cold-hearted shit to me.

Being mad about it and yelling at him is another thing entirely.

            • I would take a more center view, because I get where both of you are coming from. I think from a female point of view, waking up to find someone "inside you" would be upsetting, regardless of the relationship with that person. Most guys, if they saw their gf sitting on the couch watching TV wearing accessible clothing, would not just run up and "shove it in" with no warning. So I don't know why you would do this while she is sleeping either. Also, as I would expect she would be completely dry, closed, and unaroused, I can't imagine why you would even want to.

If you are going to take a legal definition of rape, then yes, it is rape. But how a woman would actually perceive the action, and how she would respond, will vary from woman to woman.

I also think there are more layers to this. Though I don't personally get the appeal of sticking it in a sleeping person, I would guess that a large number of adults both male and female, myself included, have given a partner a "hot start" in the morning. Waking a sleeping partner up to some kissing, licking, touching, and so forth. Sometimes that might result in consensual sex, and other times you might be told to go away.

But if you wanted to take a strictly legal definition, much of that could qualify as sexual assault. But again, how the person perceives the action, and how they respond, will vary greatly from person to person.

  • How does that even happen? By asleep do you mean drugged? Because i don't think you can have sex with someone while they are asleep without them waking up.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • I think I'd wake up pretty quickly but if I was in the deepest sleep ever and someone managed to do that, I would probably be upset at myself for sleeping through it and missing out. I would also start to view the person as sneaky.

  • If I lived with my partner, I think I would probably be excited and let them continue. However I'm pretty sure I would wake up instantly; I'm a light sleeper lol. But if they wanted to wake me up by reaching down and caressing me softly, you sure won't hear me complaining. Mm

  • I myself wouldn't mind but I am sure plenty people might . I don't know how they would give me an erection in my sleep though ... curious to find out if they could or if they could without me waking up .

  • Ok well I like my sleep so I know they'd wake me up and if my bf did I might just have to hit him in the soft spot.Yes I'd be mad.Id probably like someone to ask permission.Im not a freaking rag doll!!You want me?Be decent enough to ask first.I hate idiots that rape or have it with you without consent dammit.Im not mad at the poll creator here that's just my point of view

  • I actually wouldn't feel very bothered by this. As long as he didn't cum inside me then I guess it's whatever

  • It happens to me, sort of. Occasionally, I wake up to find my gf has gone down on me. I think it's awesome.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • It wouldn't happen. I don't sleep that deeply so I would wake up at the first touch or sooner.

      Comment Hidden ( show )
        -
      • A bit of both, depending on my sleeping habits at the time. I'm in my night owl phase now, but I do love quiet early mornings when most other life is still sleeping. I get the worm regardless ;)

    • Are you talking about being pissed that you couldn't stop the person from raping you?

  • Regardless if it's your partner or a complete stranger, it's rape. Unless you give consent to your partner of course.

    • Fuck off... What if consent is given in advance?

      Comment Hidden ( show )
        -
      • That's different. I should add in my response, unless consent is given in advance and during.

        Comment Hidden ( show )
  • If it was a partner, probably not. If, however, I had told them I didn't want to have sex with them or that I was angry with them for something so didn't want to have sex with them, then yeah I would probably be a bit mad about it.

If it was a complete stranger then I wouldn't of wanted it to happen but I'd probably be apathetic about it.

  • Some of us think that being married constitutes implied consent, but of course, anybody who loves their significant other still wouldn't do that if it was something your SO wouldn't like. It's more an issue of respect, and we should all learn early in a relationship what kind of behavior is expected or is acceptable. I've woken my wife up numerous times by kissing her all over her body and she never complained, and she was totally awake when we got around to intercourse. I would never just climb on top and start humping while she was sleeping. She's had her fun with me while I was sleeping, but I'm a pretty sound sleeper and didn't know about it till she told me the next day. No problem. Try it again when I'm awake!

  • It is probably almost impossible for someone not to wake up way before the actual sex act.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • I'm pretty sure I would wake up, but if I didn't wake up I would upset as hell. Sex is awesome, just wake me up and let's get in on!!
