  • Vietnamese. It seems to be full of really long words and really short words
    it sounds like;
    waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa doe ma!

  • Spanish.

  • Languages only annoys me if a group of immigrants looks at me, laughs and talks in their native language about me.

  • Find it funny how many of you voted English...

I bet it's certain self-deprecating Americans who can't stand anything to do with their own cultural identity and obsess over the 'foreign and exotic'.

Also, why is Hebrew so unpopular? Always thought as a language is sounds quite interesting. Or are people just expressing their hatred of Israel?

  • Certain Asian language(s)—I confess I'm not really sure which—sound to me like they're always in a heated discussion that could break out into a major argument at any moment.

As best I can tell it uses raised voices for emphasis, presumably because intonation is tied to meaning instead.

      • Oh my, that Anaconda video looked like a video appropriate for massive farts. You know, the really satisfactory bombastic ones.

  • Voted French. Surprised Russian isn't on this list. Not that I would have voted for it, but it's one of the top ten languages in the world.

      • Chinese is a group of language varieties. Different Chinese people speak different languages, although Mandarin is the predominant language in China.

  • Speak English or die.

Spanish is by far the ugliest language. I could listen to it for less than a minute and develop a headache.

  • German is like horse speaking with a mouth full of stones.

  • You said English but there are so many variations of accents within that, it's insane. There are also several variations in most of the others as well. You should have been more specific or something.

  • I think any language is annoying; it's all dependent on the person speaking it.

  • C'est normal de ne pas aimer ce qu'on ne comprends pas. Enfin pour les plus cons c'est normal.

    • Google translates that as:

It's normal not to love what you do not understand. Finally, for more cons this is normal.

      Izzat correct?

  • None.

  • In terms of sound, I find French to be very annoying sometimes. A lot of words sound almost exactly the same and, unless you know the context of the conversation, it's really hard to understand what people are saying. This is just my experience from having to take French in high school.

  • Dutch... Defiantly Dutch...

  • I don't find most of these really annoying but I don't really enjoy listening to Japanese, I also dislike thick Indian accents where you cant figure out what words they are trying to pronounce in English.

I love British English, Australian English and German but I just don't like listening to Japanese as much as I might like the culture.

British English sometimes sounds very distinguished, Australian makes me think of someone adventuring the outback, Italian I often mistake for Spanish and most of my family speaks Spanish so that really wouldn't irritate me, French just sounds FruFru like a french puddle, Scottish and Irish accents sound similar but one sounds closer to scraping and I also don't mind either of those, Chinese I could listen to but I don't understand it. Hebrew I have no opinion on.
