  • I learned so much about shoplifting when I worked in a posh department store a few years ago, how to remove security tags from items and where to hide them in the fitting rooms and specifically for that building where the camera blind spots were. Those were the tactics of the ones who didn’t get caught. The ones who did tried to steal in plain sight on the shop floor, came in dressed in cheap trashy clothes that flagged them as suspicious or got greedy and tried to take too much (the record was 8 large bags, she was arrested).

Personally I didn’t steal anything but I know a lot of the staff, and likely former staff, did so you’re not alone in picking this up.
