Wool hat on 75 degree day means youre insecure?

I wore my wool hat outside today when it was 75 degrees out, and this woman comments on me wearing it in this weather. She automatically assumed I was insecure and hiding something and asked me "what are you trying to hide? Why should you give a fuck what people think?" I never said anything about being insecure or trying to hide anything, she just assumed that because i was wearing a wool hat in 75 degree weather. Does any of you think the same thing or understand where this woman was coming from?

      I'm not a slave to fashion, I'm just wondering why people think it's insecurity that I'm wearing a wool hat when it's 70, 70 is not that hot to where a wool hat should be getting people's attention to where they gotta say shit to me about it.

        If it's 70degrees and you're wearing a wool hat you are a slave to fashion.
        Maybe you should also wear a shawl so you don't catch a chill you sensitive dear.

    I see what you mean. It gets very annoying. I once wore a leopard parka in gym class and everybody thought I was insecure. No, I just really loved my parka. Just be you and don’t let people get to you.
