Women: do you think that men should go through pregnancy & periods?

I know it's not biologically possible. Let's just PRETEND it is, alright? Alright.

Yes (Then they could understand us better and there'd be less sexism) 49
No (It's bad enough we have to go through it) 43

Sure. As long as women can experience getting kicked in the nuts.

Sure, I'm game for that experience and I know it's excruciatingly painful but I'm pretty sure giving birth is worse.

        We'll never know will we?

If you kick the guy hard enough in the nuts, he can't make you pregnant. Problem solved.

        I think.

    We'd understand you better?! HAH!

Men: Do you think you should be able to give women the same bullshit they give you and see if they understand why we are assholes.

If we treated you like you treat us, you would kick us to the curb in a second. So no, I don't care to understand the temporary pain that you go through from time to time. When guys are in pain you don't see us bitching out everyone around us.

Actually, yes we do. And we feed you and stroke your back and say soothing things and bring you medicine and hot tea. You are happy and grateful you are cared for. That's what I've found.

And when you are better you wash my car or pick up a load of mulch or change my oil or get my car inspected. That's what I've found.

      We're different and it's okay.

No. There'd be no point. I'd love to get rid of my period, though. :D

I don't think most men could handle it.

    • Well, apparently being kicked in the testicles is far more painful, like by ten times or so? Can't remember the exact X number, just less lasting. So I think they would be able to handle it pretty well. Lol.

I can't say I know what that feels like, but I do know labor pain and I don't think it compares. Unless you get kicked in the balls every 20 minutes for 24 hours straight only to increase it's timing for the duration. And then bleed for six weeks following while your nipples are being tortured. Fun stuff!

I was thinking about the emotional roller coaster that comes with it. As a rational individual I know when the crying is irrationally triggered, but that doesn't mean I can just turn it off. Its not that men can't handle emotions. They just aren't as accustomed to dramatic fluctuations of hormones.

Is being kicked in the balls so painful that you throw up and pass out?

        Comment Hidden ( show )
          -
        • Actually, yes, you can throw up due to it. Throwing up and passing out is not a measurement of pain.

Do you get kicked in the balls once a month?lol

            • Still doesn't change the fact that men do have to deal with pain a woman is incapable of feeling, which could suggest they would be able to get through it once a month.

I am throughly embarassed when women complain excessively about period cramps. I mean yeah, it sucks, but it's life. Everyone has their own problems/pain they have to deal with. It just happens to be periods/pregnancy for females.

I would love to ditch my period, but sometimes i am ashamed by the whininess of my own gender.

I do think it might be beneficial in terms of realising why women are a bit grumpier for a few days each month. As for pregnancy and labour - I hope that a decent, sympathetic man wouldn't suggest a woman was complaining for no real reason! They should be informed and educated on what the woman is going through. There are things that make the experience of being male or female very different, but if we all have enough empathy and maturity, I think we can consider what it might be like for one and other, and subsequently not give each other a hard time!

If you stop and think about it, women are the lucky ones!

We get: Free food, all the sex we want (Unless we are ugly, smelly or old) and we can kindly ask the men to carry heavy stuff for us!

    So ...YAY SEXISM!

No men shouldn't go through it, sorry you were born with a vagina. You can keep your periods and prego bitches.

Yes, I definitely think so. Someday when there's true equality in the world, men will have artificial periods and pregnancies. My idea is that it can work like this:
When a womyn is on her period, she can give her man a pill that causes cramps and bleeding, and when she's pregnant, he can wear a vest with a water bag in front. He can also use a testicle clamp when she's giving birth. It'll allow them to appreciate our sacrifices, and maybe even teach them a little empathy. It'll certainly solve many of the world's problems.

Well its impossible for men to have periods and get pregnant. If they could they would be called "Women". So its not like we can really debate on this. So this question is nonsense. You are basically saying that you wish all men would turn into women and all women would turn into men. I don't know if everyone would agree with you. Some women like that they were born women and some men like the fact they were born men.

Again... women saying that being a woman is so much worse than being a man. As if physical pain was the worst thing in the world. I personally would choose to be a woman just because of the differences in social status.

NO. My boyfriend not understanding my period is the least of both of our problems. He already experiences more pain than I do. Besides, I think it's kind of funny and cute when he tries to conceptualize it. All he needs to know is to leave me the hell alone 1 week-2 days before IT starts; make sure I have weed/painkiller for the first day.

I'd kinda like to know what a period feels like. Just once, because I'd like to be able to empathise. Not that I want a bleeding penis or anything though, before anyone takes that interpretation, and definitely not pregnancy.

I'm right there with you. I'm curious to know what it feels like and how I react to it. And yeah it would be easier to empathize with the plights that woman go through when they start bleeding. In general I just want to be a girl for a month.
