You miss the part that feminism does not own the concept of equality, therefor you can't claim that equality and feminism is the same thing. Feminism "may" be looking for equality how "they" view equality but that does not mean that it is itself the same as the concept of equality.
Dictionary definitions? Like the people's republic of Korea (Or whatever it calls itself)? Definitions can be misleading and not represent the group of people that represent the group.
So to sum it up, people can oppose feminism because they support equality in a way feminism doesn't and view feminism as part of the problem, which you can't deny there have been plenty of cases when they have done wrongs.
