Go for the gerbil first, slightly cheaper if you're struck for money and less looking after then a dog. If you want to be able to hold something without it jumping everywhere go for a hamster. I'm sure you'll find some new friends at collage then you won't feel so lonely. Sure the colleague can provide help if you need it.
I'm moving into rent next year on my own (family break up and parents messy divorce), but I'm going to have to live off around £20 a week and with little savings I'm basically screwed. I'm on a low wage and I can get help from benefits(in the UK) but because of my age and I'm on my own I only get a very small percent (government cut backs) and once I own £200 a week (inc the benefits) they'll stop paying. And with high cost of living I'm going have to make major changes like living with the lights switched off, no TV, cheap food at supermarkets, hand wash clothes, heaters barely on, counting every bit of water & electricity I use. Pretty scary because I don't want to get into debt. I was given a gift card of £25 from work this Christmas but I really don't feel like spending it with what's to come.
I'm worried about having to go down there with a rental car. I have to find a way back to my dorm. XD I'm anxious about that. I've only been down there once and briefly. I was hoping maybe if one of my roomates has a car they can come with me and drive me back. XD
I wish you luck as well. That's got to be tough, more than I'm dealing with and I don't even think i can do all of what I'm doing on my own. I already messed up on one of my classes and have to take Trig. in it's place. -.- Not that I hate math but I didn't feel like taking a math class this semester.
After the first sememster I think I'll take a break and move somwhere (God knows where XP), get a job, pay off my medical bills and school loans and learn a language or two while I do that.
Will YOU be celebrating Christmas? What will 2013 mean to YOU?
