Will landlord warn about late rent prior to eviction?

Ok, so I have never not paid rent, but I believe two maybe three consecutive months now I have paid later than the 1st of the month. If I remember, the first once or twice was only 3 or 4 days late, but last month by the time the payment processed it was like the 9th of the month.

Does anyone (with experience in renting and landlords) know the typical steps a landlord will take to evict you? Would I not have already been warned if this was a major issue? I fully intend to get back on track as it's been a rough go of things, but I think I may be paying rent late again this upcoming month and I am worried about getting evicted.

Landlords usually give you an extra week to pay for rent. After the week they usually charge $100 for late fess. I would suggest talking with the landlord and letting them know your situation. Suerte amigo

    • Thank you for the input. At the very least, I should probably definitely clean my place. No sense in giving a landlord extra reasons to not want you as a tenant

Very true. Most will give you some kind of heads up warning, it could be anywhere from a few days to a month. If they're fed up with you and have had the same problems with late rent before, they may not give you much or even any notice. Your last times paying your rent late and them still letting you stay was their warnings. More reason to clean your place too, if they were considering reluctantly giving you one more chance, that could be automatically blown if they see an apartment that looks like a tornado hit it.
