Will eating a half cup of cheese each day kill me?

In short, cheese is a very convenient part of my diet. (Largely shredded cheese). I've changed my diet to not include any cow meat and I drink almondmilk instead of milk (I previously drank skim milk...my mother's choice... and 2% milk for about 20 years and whole milk for maybe 5 years). I am now 28. I try to be mindful of my saturated fat intake otherwise outside of cheese.

But due to its consistency, is it harmful? Some reports say it is a risk to clog arteries, while others say it does not. I can easily eat half a cup to a cup daily. What is the truth and where is the line drawn?

That doesn't sound a lot to me, but I must admit I've had to cut down and change to low fat cheese because of high cholesterol.

Why not have your cholesterol checked and if it's ok, keep on with the cheese and have regular cholesterol checks. Also remember softer cheeses are lower in fat than aged ones like parmesan, according to my GP

    • So, low fat cheese has less of an impact on arteries and cholesterol even despite its consistency?

It's not the consistency of the food which affects cholesterol, it's the contents of the food. I certainly hope low fat cheese is having less impact on my arteries than if I ate a high fat equivalent.

If you're concerned about cholesterol, have yours checked and educate yourself about it.

I think if you balance your meals out properly eating that much cheese is no big deal. Just make sure your fat levels aren't too high and if it's the proteins and calcium your worried about try other things like yogurt or just milk. And regarding the clogged arteries, dont worry about that if you are following the right amount of fat, sodium, and cholesterol intake. I would say your good.

I'm from Wisconsin where that would be normal. Besides a slight increase of cholesterol you should be fine. Unless you are lactose intolerant than you would deal with gas.

    You will be fine.

In the 80's there was this big cholesterol scare but today they are worried about gluten or some shit.
But yeah cholesterol is something in food that, if consumed too much (it would take quite a bit), clogs arteries, cheese has some, like many foods, but nothing serious.

Long and short of it is - you will be fine.

In some Indian cultures they fart to say hello. This is how they greet eachother.

My room mate would appreciate that. She could be a customer greeter at a store.

That's not even true. Why would you say that. You should be more respectful of other cultures.
