  • Yo I guess you quit coming on here for abit. I just started getting back into working out about 2 weeks ago. Im trying to bulk my back out before anything else. For some reason my chest, triceps, and traps get big very easy so I havent even been working on those much. Its fuckin frusterating. Im outworking everyone in the gym. We will see. I feel like 2 weeks is a good bit of time and I should be seeing some shit.

    • Well fuck my spring break vacation and next 3 weeks of school are cancelled because of some cuck in China eating a bat, so now I have more time lool

Lagging back eh? Very common muscle group to lag. What you need to figure out is if it's your lats that are lagging or your upper back, or both. My upper back has been a stronger point for me for a long time and my lats are meh. Arms are honestly the hardest for me to grow by far.

But whatever muscle it is that's lagging, the training fix is roughly the same.

      -Hit it more frequently
      -Hit it with more volume
      -Hit it with more intensity

Then of course you need to examine your exercise selection. For the back a lot of people I see rely too much or even only on pullups. Pull ups don't build the lats great for everyone, especially bigger guys. Very few people are strong enough to do 15+ reps but yet the lats respond very well to high volumes!

      • Yeah I noticed last night the dumbell row does more for my back than anything else. I've read that if you have been muscular before your muscles grow back to that easier. I was surprised how strong I was on benchpress. I havent lifted or done pushups in a long time but day 1 I am doing sets with over 200.

        • Yes man muscle memory is HUGE! I always amaze myself how quick I get my shit back. 2 sessions back into squatting after I fucked my hip flexor and I was moving 315 like it's nothing. It's amazing to me how the body does that.

Scot mendelson hurt his shoulder or something and was one of the top benches in the world raw or equipped. Then after like 6 months off he equip benched over 1000 pounds in his THIRD bench session back.

Basically, of all the adaptations to resist training, muscle size is one of the FIRST things to leave. It still comes back well by my point is that all the neurological adaptations are virtually permanent.

          • I never maxed out in my prime. The most I ever benched was three 45 plates on each side. But I think I could have gotten more. Thats back when I did sets of 80-100 pushups. Right now I can only do like 35 pushups and im already working out with 200. Kinda crazy. I wonder how much I could get up to on benchpress if I really tried
