Wierd experience while my friend played mgs3: snake eater

i sometimes feel like i have innapropriate empathy and emotions for certain situations. it sounds stupid but my friend was playing metal gear solid 3 and there is a part in the game where you can destroy the enemies food supply. when you come back to the place you can hear the enemy saying things like "so hungry" and "i haven't eaten in days" i felt really bad for these lifeless virtual people and i was thinking how they are just trying to do their job. i find it strange that i could feel empathy for a videogame character. i dont like to see people suffer in real life or otherwise. plus he totally shot a dog.

    that video games can make some people even cry like when you play against innocent people,you see it effects us easily but in a positive way and there are others who are being effected negatively by this games..some video games made people violant especially the kids who are under the allowed age of playing..so we must be careful

    Um ya like I feel really bad for the bad guys in movies when they get hurt or whatever, and my sister was on the sims 3 and starved a person to death in the kitchen so I felt really bad... And yes it's totally normal.

    lol i would shoot dogs all day in real life just kidding but yeah i felt that way after i killed a cock roach so i understand whenver i see a dog on tv i call my dog over and pet her german rotts are excellent dogs, now games do not desenitize people its the media and everything else they really dont allow a whole lot in games in movies way more take date night talked about threesomes and a whole lot of shit im 17 years old I look at porn and i felt a little uncomfortable watching that movie its pg 13 my point games are rated more harshly than movies.

    I'm a guy and sobbed at titanic free willy shindlers list crying game and elephant man movies etc.. I always feel empathy for people and animals....

    me too. Completely normal, I even know a guy who fell in love with a girl in his video game, and sometimes I play games and feel bad for the things I kill.

    Well, you're certainly kind-hearted, but remember that pixels don't need food. They need electricity, but I'm sure it wouldn't even hurt their feelings if you took that away. Might hurt yours for a bit, but I digress . . .

    Nah, this is completely normal you just might be a little soft, which is completely normal! And is in fact a very good thing to be...soft. It's a good thing your a soft person, which shows you care for people, whether in real life or virtually.
