I don’t know. I’m an American, and I consider myself pretty good at geography. But I agree most of my fellow countrymen are pretty miserable at it. Just kind of a jingoistic arrogance and provincial attitude, I suppose.
I'd be astonished if more than a third of Americans know what 'jingoistic' means.
Most people use chauvinistic instead of jingoistic. Probably because the media uses that to describe nationalistic groups.
Chauvinism and jingoism are completely different things
They are synonyms so yeah they kinda do.
I dropped out of highschool and even I know what it means
