You don't get to disagree with facts. It's not up to your or me to decide. I didn't come up with that out of the blue.
I've been studying philosophy for years. I KNOW what I'm saying. Most other animals lack some fundamental things (or are lucky to not have them) to be able to have an ego.
But maybe you're refering to another definition of ego which people commonly mistake as only a sense of self. If that's the case then yes, they can have that kind of "ego" (althrough it's not the real philosophical ego).

So only a philosophical definition of ego is real?
There are plenty of facts that support animal egos. Since when is philosophy the epitome of facts?
And in my pithy amount of philosophical study, even I KNOW that only fools claim to know any thing.
Sadly, I don't have the energy to write out literally all the thoughts in my head.
