Why is there a double standard when it comes to age gaps in relationships?

  • I dunno, I think it's just a stupid patriarchal double standard. I'm not a fan of dating when there is more than a ten year age gap. I've never dated, nor do I have any desire to date anyone who is significantly older than me. I've dated more than my share of younger guys, but I didn't really pursue them, they perused me.

    • I think people should be able to date whoever they want. I’m 31 my girlfriend is 13. To me age shouldn’t matter unless obviously it’s a very young child. You can’t help who you fall for and who falls for you. As long as both people in the relationship are happy and nothing is being forced people should just mind there own business.

      • So what you're telling me is that you're a pedobear. Not cool... not cool, dude. I could put a bullet in a child molester's skull, and I wouldn't feel a thing except for the recoil of my weapon.

        • I didn’t say it was a sexual relationship at this time.I said we are dating there is absolutely nothing against the law in dating. We haven’t been intimate yet. I’m willing to wait until she is 16 which is the age of consent where I live. We’re both wiling to wait because we know we’ll have the rest of our lives for the intimacy aspect of our relationship.
