Medical Aid is run by private companies here (in South Africa) and if you have one, they will usually pay for one pair of glasses every year (glasses + sunglasses on the optometrist's offer then).
Fortunately, I don't need glasses, but if I did, it seems like I'd be a bit better off.
Why is it so hard finding clip on for your glasses?

The optometrists where I live will give you matching prescription sunglasses for free if you buy prescription glasses by them.

They wont do that at mine. Do you have good coverage? It cost me another pair of glasses and my prescription is very high so it costs to much.

In most aspects it's probably shittier than wherever you live, so be happy despite being ripped off on glasses.
