You know what would happen to your kid if that happened? He'd find a chosen family where her choices would be welcomed and encouraged so she could live her best life and feel loved and validated, despite the shitty treatment she had from her family... it's classic. She would live in the outskirts of YOUR society but find a place where "different" is celebrated. The ONLY thing I agree with you on is that it's a hard process and their kin's treatment can be soul crushing. Do you want your daughter's soul to be crushed?
You are basically encouraging your kid to fail if they say they are trans and are 100% accepting of it. Like it or not it's an abnormality that most people think it is terrible, because objectively it is.
I see it as another form of anorexia. Not gonna tell an anorexic that they are right that they are fat. Why continue the delusion of being the other sex?
And you think having no where to go and being rejected by your family does not play a part on their high suicide rate?? You just admitted that yourself. There is no place for them, and they are just trying to exist.
Theres no statistics on how many people tried to do this and their loving family talked them out of it and you never hear about it. It does happen. Its not like you have to be mean about it to not accept it.
I definitely dont support those and I dont think being gay is on the same level as trans. If you decide your not gay anymore you can just stop being gay. When you start hormones during puberty those are permanent effects for life. Not to mention if you get surgery.
Being gay is much more acceptable in society and despite what ppl say jokingly most people do not really care if someones gay
I'm not saying that the family talks them out of it. I am saying that they don't even consider it at all! If there is acceptance there is no (worsening) depression.
Of course there are some trans people that wanna commit suicide for multiple reasons. What i am trying to say is, if we were all accepting, being trans would not be the reason they would kill themselves for.
I hope i am making sense, English is not my first (not even my second lol) language.
When you celebrate it and make it trendy you have many kids that have trouble fitting in become trans to join the club and be considered cool and get to hang out with these lgtb ppl. I worry many of them are not really trans they're being encouraged to do it until it's too late and they realize it was a mistake but their bodies have been permanently altered with hormones
I get that you think now it's becoming "trendy" bc it has become more visible.
Trans people have always being here, maybe not as loud bc there wasn't this much acceptance, and now that they have a better environment they feel safer and that's why they come out. That's why you have older people on their 50's coming out as trans. Visibility might make it seem like there are more of them but that's just perspective, and obviously with social media, the content is even more accessible.
Kids don't have access to that stuff such as gender affirming surgeries or hormones (at least in my county i think). They even have to go through multiple years of psychological examination done by professionals.
Even if that was the case, i don't think anyone would choose to be picked on by everyone else just bc of how they are. I know it might seem like there is a lot of acceptance online, but that's just it. Online. In real life people deal with the trouble of being trans. Is not cool. Not cool at all, and they know it. And if they don't they'll realize soon enough and will stop pretending.
I was hoping you weren't advocating for authoritarian government forcibly removing my kids and putting them in foster care. I would assume you know about foster care and how shitty it is and the statistical outcomes of kids in it. People who advocate that are actually out there.
I wouldnt let my kid hangout with drag people either until age 18.
Lolwut? What the hell does this have to do with the foster care system?? These trans kids either get kicked out of their homes by parents like you or run away from that oppression.
Why is it like that

In my state it does not work like that. Not everyone lives in California or New York

She wouldn't have to go that far, I'm positive the awesome drag community in Nashville would take her in.

In canada and america there are custody hearings about this stupid shit.
Parent (usually the father) refuses to call their kid the different gender. Then the goverment accuses the father as emotional abuse.
That's what I think he was getting at.
