You hope something doesn't happen to you so its "knock on wood I don't get this"

What is wood gonna do? Where did this saying come from?

Don't ya hate it when some one says "knock on wood" Then knocks there knuckles on something plastic.

          The name is just a nickname. No relation to the vehicle manufacturer. Holden makes some badass vehicles though
