I had drivers ed. It was required to graduate... The system is no longer valid as these methods were used to pump out factory workers during the industrial era. Now a days its more or less kept the same to keep the masses dumb and miserable.
How long ago was that though? My brother had driver's ed but that was in the late 70's. I think it was optional in the early 90's when I was in high school but the price was like $500.
I took drivers ed in 2012. The driving portion was designed to be much tougher than at the dmv, so if you passed the driving test in school, you were exempt from taking it again at the dmv.
Not too many students passed the class driving test as the teachers really wanted to make sure you were a safe and ready driver.
Why/ how has the American educational system failed?
