In order for something to happen, there must be an attempt. I imagined that's what you were implying, and it's clear that it was, but, in order to successfully imply, you must attempt to imply.
I am a native English speaker, and the syntax in that paragraph is perfectly acceptable. The only problem with it is that the second sentence is a run-on sentence.
Why has the media, politicians, corporations, etc suddenly changed?
