Thats not a good sign for your relationship. I've never heard of someone doing that.
Bit hard to tell from your post, but if he's like some guys that like to act super dominant, they're actually super insecure deep down and will therefore want to control every single aspect of the relationship.
The moment you step out of line, want your freedom, challenge his authority etc, that hand on your neck will progress to 2 hands choking the life out of you. Get out while you can.
He's really good to me, it's just something very new. I find it comforting when he does it, but I've just never seen it before. I'll definitely ask him more about it next time. But I do think he just likes showing that he's physically stronger than me despite me also being a strong woman.
