I think if we had the ability to live forever, the majority of long lived people would kill themselves, life's tough. I think one lifetimes enough for most.
There is no reason for why we die. Just the byproducts of finite life that we learn to accept.
Make sure you have a distinction between causes and consequences. There are a lot of consequences of death, but the direct cause of death is limited to what happens to a body while it is alive.

I kind of fail to understand this post. I mean, there are reasons for it that don't go to the extent of a divine purpose or anything...
Death is the disease that no organism has ever been able to cure. Too much entropy in a system that needs stability to fight that off forever.
