Why do they say "You can not have your cake and eat it to"?

  • Well kill two birds with one stone makes sense both metaphorically and literally. No use crying over spilt milk means well it over get on with your life. Generally when someone makes a cake should they not get a piece? Does that make any sense at all? I mean it is only fair right?

    • I doesn't make sense unless of course, the person who made the cake is on a diet or has type 2 diabetes.
