I think the "gay guys are more sensitive" stereotype is really stupid. I've known gay guys who are selfish, misogynistic, and generally just total asshats. I've known straight guys who are very caring, considerate and tuned-in to what women want and need.
To be really cynical, if you're a good looking guy who presents himself well, the women may just see you as arm-candy. Some women get an ego boost by being seen in public with an attractive guy.
I'm sure there are also some women who see gay guys as a challenge. It's stupid and disrespectful, but they have the idea - conscious or subconscious - that "converting" a gay guy would be validation that they're so wildly attractive that no male can resist their charms.
The most positive explanation is that the women are looking for some male company for some reason, but they don't want to have to worry about the sexual undercurrents that are always there whenever a straight woman and straight man are spending time together.
Why do straight women like me when I'm gay?
