Why do straight guys fear being gay so much?

  • Yeah, that could be responsible for maybe, maybe 1%, but stating it as the only thing in your reply to the question I asked, is pretty fucking stupid. As far as him joking, well, some people joke on serious posts I make and some poeple reply on my funnier posts and take them too seriosly. Not sure what can be done about that. But if he is joking, why are you defending him? If I know he is joking, than my insult of him is also a joke.

    • well a lot of people use anecdotal evidence to give opinions so if you are someone who is suppressing your gay feelings due to lets say religious reasons therefore scared to be called gay because you believe its a sin, then perhaps that's what you might respond in a post like this, id be scared to enjoy the so called "sin" . Im not laying claim on his intentions but rather just pointing out that its not so black and white as i think you make it sound, coming out with a rather absolutist view on this idea, it being an obvious and /or explicitly claimed joke also doesn't negate discussion on an idea. and since you seemed to dislike the joke and want seriousness i thought id bring a serious angle to it.

I guess I take the stance to be a bit more easy towards the trolls on my post, I always get a wide range of responses on my post. serious to funny, i never really stress it too much. You said "But if he is joking, why are you defending him?" . Im just talking ideas, shooting the can, just as you might comment on a post and say, " although this is most likely a troll ...then continue on to give serious reply" but even if he had explicitly said "this is a joke" it doesn't negate any further discussion of an idea. Its a not an explicit defense to him, just as commenting seriously on a troll post is not defense to a troll posters idea but it is just an attempted helpful and serious response... not only because the off chance the troll is actually being serious but also to spark discussion about things, ya know talk?

      • For your information, I am a completely straight male and the idea of gay sex disgusts me. And I'm sick of people saying that I'm just scared I might actually like it. Religious factors may come into play, but then religion is the reason people don't want to be gay, not them worring they might actually like it.
