It's true women are taught a lot about stranger danger but too many still grow up in households where the father dominates the mother and abuses her and this becomes the norm.
I hope you told the man in question to leave the nasty woman he was with, but you've come up with ONE example of a weak man putting up with verbal abuse: how does that balance against the stats on abuse and murder of women by male partners?
Women's support programs can help women to realise there's an alternative to living in an abusive situation but they obviously can't do rescue operations, although I must admit when I worked in women's refuges back in Women's Liberation days we were sometimes tempted to do so and some women died because they just couldn't get themselves out in time or were conned by the man with apologies and promises of reform. Women and sometimes children are still living in fear and sometimes dying because in spite of the rhetoric governments still do not provide adequate funding for refuges and other support services.

I was abused in multiple ways by family and partners, even went to a women's shelter for a little bit. However, I'm not going to look at men and go, "well, you're bigger and stronger than women, you should be able to handle yourself from a little verbal abuse and a slap on the face," when we, women, who are known for getting abused and murdered by our partners should know how strong emotional and psychological abuse are and the hold it can have. It's not about how strong a man is physically, or what other men do to women around the world and in the past, it's about the individual. Everyone is different, and everyone can feel pain. Men aren't immune to emotional/psychological abuse, as well as physical and sexual abuse.
How do you work out that I'm angry towards men in general? Not that it would be a crime if it were true, but it's not: all I was doing was pointing out facts and statistics and in fact in spite of surviving child sexual abuse, domestic violence and rape I do not hate all men.
Men are in fact usually bigger and stronger than women and I refuse to believe they are innately unable to deal with verbal abuse from women without resorting to physical violence.
Of course each individual situation is about the individuals involved, but that doesn't alter the fact that in a patriarchal society men have power over women, including physical power to the extent of life or death or permanent disability.
No-one, including me, said men are immune to abuse but the facts speak for themselves: women are overwhelmingly more likely to experienced male violence than the reverse.
Domestic violence stats are 50/50 - and child abuse is committed by mothers more than fathers. And LESBIANS have the HIGHEST RATE of domestic violence of any orientation! That big butch dyke beast can look like a man but not exercise masculine self control! So stop spewing your FEMINIST LIES you fucking dyke beast!
