You appear to be thinking at a lower level than some. You quote Avant-Garde, who may be right or may be wrong but at least offered a relevant theory, yet you have an explanation that is pointless. Just because they feel like it? I think most people got that, and assumed the question was "Why do they feel like it?"
God forbid you're ever a criminal psychologist. When asked why someone was stabbed, you're liable to answer "because the criminal wanted the knife in the victim. They just felt like it. It just happened. Nobody is to blame".
You're absolutely right. I was equivocal about Avant-Garde's answer because it did seem to put everyone in the same boat. I sense you got a bit sarcastic towards the end of your reply, and there's absolutely no reason to, although I admit I wasn't friendly in my reply to you (sorry). I'm not trying to prove anyone wrong here. But I am curious. Do you think people's interaction should be affected by the mode of interaction? For instance, the rules are different on the internet as opposed to telephone or real-life exchange.
WHY DO PEOPLE TROLL?
Because they don't take the internet so seriously.
Not because: "Mostly because they're sad and bored and have no other way to feel better about themselves. "
And not because: "Because they are pathetic or insecure and have nothing better to do than to make others feel like shit. "
People troll because they just feel like it.

My anwser to the poll is anyways: Because they don't take the internet so seriously.
Although you are correct, I wasn't really giving a good anwser as to 'why' people do it, Their anwsers were pretty horrible aswell.
They simply just said "They are scum"
Which is a horrible anwser.
Avant-Garde's anwser was written in such at way that would makes you believe that he/she thinks it's universal.
Notfloydzie atleast wrote "Mostly".
So I do believe that I deserve those thumbs downs.
I should have spent more thought on it.
Thank you for knocking some sense into me.

I agree!
No, it's because it's fun. And yes the first thing. Well said.
