Seriously, these dudes and chicks all lied to me about not having kids, not doing drugs, their weight, their height, and their employment status. The worst were the ones that lied about their gender. They seemed surprised and upset when I didn't want to see them again after meeting up. Wtf?!
they are probably one of the following, lonely, horny, or lack self confidence
dating sites are a license to lie. just like facebook we tend to over sell our health like right now i have a real picture of myself looking like the hulk and i gained 50 pounds of fat while lying in bed for a year with a injured back. No one knows. I'm living a lie. at leaST I CAN WALK AGAIN.
I've gone on dates with people who exaggerated themselves somewhat e.g. they're a bit overweight but say they're "average", but not outright lies. Try okcupid.

Maybe they hope you'll like them despite of what they lied about once you meet them, also known as magical thinking...
Because those that lie can not deal with the way they are currently, so they lie to others to make themselves feel better.
