People lie because it's easier than telling a complicated truth, because it suits their aims, because they enjoy creating drama, because the truth would make them look bad, because they want the other person to feel good about themselves, and for lots of other reasons.
Try telling everyone nothing but your version of the pure, unvarnished truth for two weeks. Do that, and I bet you won't have to worry about anyone telling you lies anymore, because nobody will be talking to you at all.
Some types of lies need to be told, and I don't even mean just white lies. It's true that telling the 100% truth about everything all the time could hurt where you stand with people. I'm not saying it's ok to become a chronically lying scam artist either where everyone says about you "I don't believe one fucking word that comes out of this lying piece of shit's mouth". It's one of those things where you gotta find the right balance in the middle. But yeh, you can't tell the 100% truth to anyone anywhere anytime, cause that will fuck you up with people. Just find that happy medium.
I lie to train my ability to lie. Just in the same way as I spend time here giving advice, in order to train my ability of giving advice. I want to become a good liar because I want to become a leader, and I need to know as much as I can about lying, because people love hearing lies and make their choices based on lies.
I wish I was living in a world where lies are not needed and I intend to be as clean and corruption-free as possible, but sometimes I simply cannot pass some stages of life/career without lying. People will select better liars for better positions and I will never be able to progress without lying. Then I will be judged and considered incapable of progressing. So I must lie sometimes and I must become really good at it. After those stages I want to be as honest as possible and I don't want to harm anybody in any way, especially not for personal interests.
In an imperfect world, we need imperfect statements to survive, and these are imperfect when they contain lies.
If there will be a world where lies are not needed then human race will cease to exist
I don't believe it. Not a world where lies do not exist, but where lies are not needed. A world in which I don't have to lie to reach some certain levels, where systems are all fair and we are all evaluated impartially, so that everyone gets the right responsibilities based on their capacities.
Lying is part of our free will and people will always choose it at some point, but being forced to lie to obtain some benefits which were not intended to be delivered based on lies is a result of a damaged social environment and this is totally prevetable.
People lie for a lot of reasons. I think it's just a survival instinct in all of us. In a competative environment you have to lie to survive. Imagine if you were in a war and told your enemy everything. Wouldn't turn out well for you.
Life is war. Plain and simple.
Self benefit or self insecurity, sometimes they think they can benefit someone else that way
I lie because I can. It helps me get what I want. Growing up with divorced parents who always made me pick sides showed me that if lying saves me trouble and the result is the same, why would I not lie? That eventually spread to lying to avoid trouble and lying to sound cooler and now I’m so good at it that it comes out more naturally than the truth does sometimes. Also, if you can’t remember your lies, you can’t lie. So people also lie because they have good memories.
Actually what I am asking is why do people lie even when they don't have too??
Some people lie for no reason
I do that now because it just comes out half the time. If you lie enough, eventually you like lies more than you like the truth. I only tell people I care about the truth, everyone else basically receives lies. And even the people I care about, I lie to them more than I should.
Its simple people lie because they want to hear lies, they need lies just dont wanna find out that it is a lie.they want to live in their illusion/fantasy
i only lie to my mother , usually about my health, first its none of her fucking business, second it shuts her the fuck up. Anyone else gets the truth right between the fucking eyes .
