  • I rather enjoyed it, actually. Maybe you're just shy? Sometimes people think shy folks are snobby or weird. I tend to think a lot people are lame, especially trendy mainstream types. These Goth kids sound pretty cool. I was like that myself back in the 1980's.

I was recently accused of being a Hipster, but I've hip long before they started calling it ironic and Hipster. Meh, cats and dogs are cooler than most people.

    • Thanks.

I am quite shy, indeed, but I'm older now and much better at talking to folks. And I'm still more drawn to the misfits, although I make an effort to like everyone because I believe pretty much everyone I encounter has something special to offer. Even if it becomes a negative experience, I still try to learn something from/about them.

      • Why do you choose to talk to people? They will only let you down. At least that's how I have come to perceive others. You could say I have been through the same things as you (especially in P.E). Every day when I was in education, I tried to do something to get out of my shell. I remember those P.E lessons with those popular girls...

When I scored a goal in hockey. I went to score again they pushed me into the metal goal post and I hit my head of it and got a massive bruise. The teacher saw, but they claimed it was an accident.

When we played rounders. Everyone hated me when I got a rounder, since I am left handed which caused confusion. I had to field one round and to get back at me they hit the rounders ball directly towards me when I wasn't looking. It hit me in the stomach.

When I was force to play tennis because of my athletic capabilities. My opponent was one of those popular girls. Her friend called my name and I looked away whilst my opponent swung the ball at me. It hit me in the face.

When I was tapped in to fill in for a basketball player and they spat in my drink thinking I couldn't see them do it. And when one of the opponents pulled some of my hair out.

I drew the line when it was the yearly sports school events and we had to run for our house teams. The popular girl who was running next to me tag teamed with her friend who was on the other side of me. The claxon struck and they both tripped me up. I got up. A teacher came over and asked if I was okay. I said yes and sped off. I came first out of 8, but I feel like I made a big mistake in doing so, since they just kept bullying me. Without any camera's and the fact that I m generally invisible to others no-one saw me getting tripped up, just me falling to the floor. It was so embarrassing -_-

Just a few of many examples. The same as you I am quite shy. The difference is you have adapted. How did you get the courage to talk to others?
