Why do people get so much enjoyment out of blaming actual real victims?

When something bad happens to a person that is actually not their fault the victim actually gets blamed a lot to i would say most of the time. I thought you were meant to take responablity for your actions and realise there is a reason why people that are struggling in life are. Instead people love to make judgment without knowing the story and blame the victim and make excues for the person that did the bad thing and try to make it the real honest victims fault.

I know there are some people that use the victim mentality thing. However, I am talking about honest people that actually are victims of something awful.

Victim blaming is especially common with regard to the victims of sexual assault and rape.

I think that the perpetrators of sex crimes need to be held accountable for their actions, and under no circumstances should such criminals be given any leniency for reasons of their personal problems. I believe that these predators are essentially sociopaths who feel entitled to take whatever they want. So if the law says that something is illegal then the bad guys say, "... but she tempted me, I was drunk, she wanted it, her eyes said yes". Additionally I also think that the friends and family of the perpetrators victim blame, because they want to maintain the status quo. The scumbag criminals don't want to go to jail of course, but also their friends and families don't want their piece of shit loved one to go to jail so they blame the victim in order to help them maintain their denial about the fact that there loved one is a steaming pile of shit.

Not all victims/survivors of sexual assault are female, and not all perpetrators or sex crimes are male. I hate all sexual predators equally regardless of sex, age, race, religion, or persuasion, etc.

You can have all the Gatorade you want as long as you ain't the perpetrator.

Seriously, the world would be a better place if the death penalty were to apply to rapists and armed robbers. We need castle doctrine in all 50 states.

Ok if a man is sticking his hand in a gator mouth and he bleeds to death im blaming the gator and the man both. if a man is in his back yard and a bear jumps from a bush and bites off his head no way is that his fault. bears are sneaky like that

      • There are a reasonable number of people that do. However, not everyone does. People in general in society love to put people in boxes.

well, tbh, some... lets say 'off track' feminists do hate men but a true one doesn't.

        Comment Hidden ( show )
    • There are a lot of women that hate men in the feminism movement. So many that the women that are ok and fine women get lost amongst all the man haters.

        • By lost I mean the bad women give the moment a bad name and it ends up that women that are good that are feminists get seen as bad even if they are not bad.

            • I mean I support equal rights and everything. However, I support true equal rights. If a woman is doing the same job, working the same hours and doing the job to the same level as a man then of course she should get equal pay. However, she does have to be contributing the same to the company that a man is. If a man is contributing less to the compnay than a woman is then he should be on a lower pay than a woman that is contributing more.

I don't support anyone that actually wants power over the other gender though.

The truth is you are one of the very few people that questioned what I meant rather than just jumped to a conclusion and abused me.

This is how I feel about United airline dragging and beating that doctor off a plane because they fucked up. Then turning around and trying to sully his reputation.Severe assholeism at its finest

    • Yes, I totally agree with you. However, I must point out I do not blame United Airlines as from what I understand the people that did that were not United Airlines employees, they were airport security.

i blame united because united said take him off the plane by force, thats why united apologized and admitted the man did nothing wrong by refusing to leave , it was all on TV just like i said , United admitted wrong doing publically on TV because they are going to settle out of court. A boycott will send them into bankruptcy, settleing will not. Now because harm was inflicted by police they get sued as well , a judge get to decide why he was damaged and released and no resisting arrest charges were filed. It might be because they are given authority only to remove and release a passenger because being a passenger isn't a crime. so unless he hits one they cant arrest them we never saw him struggle against the forceful removal. The Doctor was ten years ago a drug dealer he has connections like you wouldn't believe judges , hit men, enforcers , a whole fucing army of loyal useres. Those cops really fucked over the wrong guy, for a bottle of painkillers he can get a mexican to kill all of them in one night. its going to be funny next year heaing about the accidents they have.

I can't think of a legitimate scenario in which "depends" would apply unless it involves someone who got attacked by a stray dog who stole their burrito after they waved it the dog's face.

When the perpetrator of the crime is a human being, regardless of whether or not the victim was careless, naive, or "asking for it" the only one who deserves hate and blame is the criminal.

I don't care what the victim was wearing or what they were doing the only one deserving of blame is the perpetrator, and I also feel this way about armed robbery. I don't care if the criminal was raised in poverty or on drugs or whatever, the blame should always be on the criminal.

Perhaps the victim/survivor could use some education as to how to be more street smart in order to avoid being a victim again, but the only person deserving of blame is the criminal and the only person deserving of compassion is the victim!

People do this because they don't want to believe good things can happen to good people. When they hear of a bad thing happening, they automatically go to cast blame to uphold their false just world belief. Even people with illnesses get victim blamed, even those with non-preventable illnesses.
