This was covered in a criminology class I took. Most of the time it's about power or personal insecurities. It happens for all the reasons above too though.

All of those options probably happen equally. Sometimes it's because of all of them. But all we need to know is that people who do rape others are sick and need help.

Ask LGRAS this is right up his alley. No but in all seriousness, i like how you said people cause men get raped too, but not nearly as much as women lets be honest. So that being said what's going on here is the mantality of society is believed that women are consider inferior to men in the society.

Also the way a women dress could set some shit off too. The "she dressed provocatively so she must want it" crap. Lets not forget the power and control. Rape happens for many reasons. Most prevalent would probably have the rapist is trying to achieve something completely different goal or whatev while thinking forced sex is the only way to achieve it or the only reason for their actions is sex.

I think men rape women and younger teens because they don't have anyone that would ever agree in their will to have sex with them, so they go out forcing strangers, or maybe people they know, to have sex with them...
