Well for me at least it wouldn't be because she's a woman, it'd be because she's my partner regardless of either of our sex. I'd just feel insecure knowing she's doing better than me, and I'd feel worried she'd think less of me for it and maybe even leave me for someone richer (even though that'd then mean that she's a completely shallow bitch, which is far worse than being poor). I obviously realise that feeling like this would be entirely my own problem btw, and that it's nothing to be proud of. Still, better to admit to it than to pretend to myself that it wouldn't bother me.
Why feel insecure? The person your with is suppose to motivate you to do better even if you make it to their level. At least your making progress and obtaining personal goals along the way. You have to change your way of thinking. That person just might bring up the ranks with them. It’s like this, why waste your time thinking about who has more than you? If your doing what your doing to make progress, you won’t have any time to think about anyone else and what their doing.
Well I'd just feel like a total failure looking at all her success and comparing myself to her. Honestly if I ever got a girlfriend with a much more illustrious career than me, I'd want her to take zero interest in what I do for a living or in improving my situation. I'd feel like I'm letting her down then for having such a shit job and not being able to do any better, which again would make me worry she'd leave me for someone more successful, especially once she realises that all her encouragement and support doesn't make any difference.
Why do men have a problem with women making more money than they?
