Maybe you've taken what started off as a joke too far? Could this be adding some stress to mammy and daddys relationship? You might want to talk to them, make it casual, ask Glen if the daddy thing bothers him or something. If this is not the case and they want to continue on with this tight friendship, more similar to a family then that is nice. Everyone deserves to feel the love and care of a family and i think it's awesome youve been able to find that comfort in two (who sound very very nice) people. If your that close with them it might not be inaprpriate to ask whats going on, and even suggesting solution (ie if they need marriage counselling) Don't push the issue though. Even married couples with biological children dont tell their kids everything, some things are of private matter and stay between man and wife.
