To say that you've had a rough childhood would an understatement. You are quite a tough young individual and I greatly admire you for that. It's both normal and understandable that you'd be upset and feel a variety of emotions when someone disrespects you particularly because of your past. I would suggest talking with a counselor (most schools provide them for free) for some support and he or she can possibly give you some answers. You're a strong person for dealing with all you've dealt with, I hope this small piece of advise helps.
