They read a fantasy book that said sex is bad, and they believed it.

Sex is ok if you are of age and the act is mutual, and it is much better if it is with someone you care about and cares about you C:

There is a long an interesting history to this. I believe that this dates to a time when the church of christianity had political power and used this as a way to control and dominate the population. There was a more specific reason I forget. And then a similar thing occurred with Islam. Luckily your currency is likely strong enough that if you work for even just a few months, you can afford to move to a country where this is more acceptable.

Because you are backneck cave dwellers clinging to a bullshit religion in which your pedophile prophet is a piece of human garbage, and a hypocrit, who enacted these laws so he could keep all the little boys and girls for himself.

Why do you need a religious organization to tell you how to think?

Having or attempting sex with anyone against their will is officially a crime. Having or attempting sex with anyone under 18 whether it's against their will or not is officially a crime. Sexual innuendos and suggestions towards anyone against their liking is officially a crime. If someone, any age, sex, or whatever has not given you the ok and you still proceed with anything sexually related, whether it's acts, comments, or suggestions, it is officially a crime. Them not giving you a 100% ok is the same thing as no. No means no! It's the law and it's rightfully taken very seriously. Violating it can land you with charges, restraining orders, and even prison.

It is if it's unwelcomed. That's why I said it's OK if you have the 100% OK from that person first. I was saying that not having 100% OK is the same thing as being told no, and no means no. Unless they say it's 100% ok.

You don't know squat. The age of consent in about half the states is 16 and even lower in others. Same goes for many countries. Go back to school and learn something instead of trying to sound like some know it all.

Many countries and states have what are called “Romeo and Juliet laws” where sex between two underage partners, or one underage and the other only a year or two older, is not considered a crime. In Shakespeare’s play Romeo was 16 and Juliet was only 13.

It all comes down to property rights in ancient Middle Eastern societies. A girl is the property of her father until he contracts with another family to transfer this property, usually for some kind of bride price. The girl then becomes the property of another man, referred to as her husband. If she has sex outside this relationship it is theft. This is especially important because any children she may have, especially sons, inherit their family’s wealth. It is important then that there is no question as to the parental linage of the children. So sex outside the bonds of the marriage relationship is a crime, frequently punished with death.
The ancient Celts, and a few other societies, had a better solution to this problem. All property ownership and wealth passed through the matriarchal linage. The reasoning was, although one might not know who the father was, the mother was never in doubt. Thus, women in Celtic societies had much greater status and sex before or outside marriage was not such a big issue.

Don't worry about what others think. Do what makes you and your partner happy, you can't live in fear of societal views and be yourself, society is ever changing anyways. Be calm and get your freak on😊🍆💦

I don't know the Qur'an that well, so I honestly don't know. There may even be interesting counter-arguments based on the holy book, but I cannot help you there, unfortunately. From my limited knowledge, though, I think sex is generally seen as ok by most communities when within the boundaries of marriage, but not outside of or before it. I think it's related to the concept of modesty, that prescribes chastity in all relationships and strong sensitivity to taboos in the interaction between different genders. If you want to have a girlfriend/boyfriend anyway despite the customs of your people, you can move to a region with more liberal communities. I believe some Muslim majority countries in Eastern Europe, or others with significant Muslim communities in that region, are far more liberal than in the Middle East, but I don't know if they would accept this kind of interaction. You can also abandon Islam or convert to another religion, but I think this is usually seen as an even greater sin, punishable by death in many countries. Therefore, if you do convert, you should do so after moving somewhere that allows it, and perhaps after leaving your community, depending on how they would react to your choice. In any case, best of luck.

That is true. But in this poster's scenario that does not seem to be the case.

Because some communities (and by some I mean that one in particular) have stupidly conservative attitudes to things and need to move into the 21st Century.
