I'm not sure if I undestood it well enough. A girl liked you, but you didn't gave her much of a response, so can you blame her for stop liking you? If someone likes you, you have to treat them well, at least. There is a quote that goes: 'You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.'. If you don't like her, then you have the duty to tell her you just want to be friends. Don't delude her or leave her hanging, it feels awful. If you do like her, make a move, mate! You aren't a teen any more. Try this from now on, and we will see how girls will act then.

Well, it's unpleasant to still hang out with someone that blew you off (dismissed you romantically). Ever heard of something called friendzone? Always good to try to escape from that in any way possible.
