  • Oh, yeah definitely, you don't need to change my mind about this. There are numerous problems that come along with the culture.

I don't think I know you, nor do I think badly about you in the first place. I think you're being a bit extreme with this, but I agree with your main point. There are many problematic celebrities that are bad influences, especially to the younger generation.

While I disagree that they shouldn't get to complain about the hate/threats they get and don't deserve. (it is deserved a lot of the time, of course) They did put themselves into the public eye and into the position of being a role model, and they should assume that responsibility.

Plus there are some good things that come with it. There are celebrities that are good people and role models, and many people look up to entertainers when they have no one else. They do help people as well. I feel like that a lot of the issues fall back on the entertainment industry and society, and not the just the individuals in the spotlight.

    • Yeah, fair enough. And you are right; it doesn't make sense to tar a whole group.

I guess I just have a huge aversion to celebrity culture in general, which probably colored the tone of my comment there. It's really taken off in America in the past idk 15 years, and it's fucking horrific. The people who are famous for no reason other the reality shows...ugh and the political pundants like bill oreily, vomit.

I know, I probably come on here, and sound angry cause I can ranty rant with swear words and everything...I'd promise to take it down a notch but then I totally won't...fucking twatty cunt celebrities!
