Why do body builders try to get so big?

I was just thinking about this... they work out for years and try to become as big as possible to show their masculinity and sexuality to women. But the one thing that they can't make any bigger now looks proportionately smaller. Not very sexy.

Is It Normal?

  • Honestly, I just don't find big, muscular, masculine men attractive. XD

  • I used to work out a bit and thusly have been around a few body builders in my day. I noticed early on that 1: most builders are doing it to impress women and
2: many of them are gay men who admire the male form and want to emulate their perfect mate.

  • I knew a guy who did it mainly just cos he liked the way he looked. He was short of stature and it made him look more impressive. It wasn't necessarily all about girls - he only had one girlfriend and now they're married... He was one of the softest guys you ever knew - and more than a little vain.

  • Are you saying this as a female or male. I can understand both sides, a huge muscular guy shows that he can protect his significant other among other strength and endurance realated tasks 😏

  • Arnold Schwarzekfkfkfmdkf said something like it's about the "ideal" body, as in ancient Greece. They see themselves as living artforms, aiming to reach the ultimate human form. They pose like Greek sculptures because those proportions are what they aim for or even exceed. So not so much about masculinity and impressing the ladies as philosophy and art.
