  • Funny. I thought Howaminotmyself was west-coast Canadian because she's so liberal and friendly. She's still West-Coast, but a little further south, below the 49th parallel. I can see why you thought Randomjelly was Australian - I thought Wigsplitz was too.

You're not the first person to assume I'm a guy on this website. I don't think people expect women to be straight-forward or outspoken. So when text is all that a person has to judge me by, then they might think I'm a man. Or maybe, because men are men, they might just assume that everyone else is a man too (like the Americans that assume everyone on this site is American); arrogance of the dominant power. You're too intelligent to think that way though.

I thought you were much older than you say you are. Like 55+, because there is so much sensitivity and wisdom in your comments. Not many people have the capacity to view the world the way you do.

I love this website. I can be honest about how I feel about different topics and all that people have to judge me by is my words - not my big boobs and long blonde hair.

    • Howaminotmyself comes off as very Canadian (which I guess she almost is, geographically). I thought Wigsplitz was an Aussie too. I wonder what made us both think that.

I got the gender-confusion thing too. So many people thought I was female because I have a sensitive side, and I'm kind of nurturing. I just want people to be happy. Plus I stand up for women's rights and read a lot of feminist books and literature (mainly because it's interesting to me to see the other side of things). There's an innate selfishness in people and they project it onto others. I think it's difficult to understand why a man would do something that doesn't directly benefit himself; so the assumption is that I'm female. This is also the reason I love women so much. As a gender, you generally care.

I'm flattered when people think I'm older or younger because I try so hard to be balanced and see things in a fair way (neither male nor female, old or young, English or other, white or other). I don't ever give my name or my age here, but - as a one-off thing - you, me, howaminotmyself, randomjelly and wigsplitz are all the same kind of age group.

P.S. Every time you say you are blonde, it surprises me. I think this is the third time now. I have no idea why my mind keeps imagining you as a brunette. I think I imagine everyone is a brunette. Maybe I'm a hair-racist!
