It sounds like you are giving an easy life to your wife, and you seem to be happy and having fun.
I was in a similar romance. Once it ends, the young woman has let go of her life to live yours. Then she has nothing left. old friends are different than she is, young men are different than she is. It is hard for her to start again, she "missed the starting gun".
And when we are young, it is a good thing to struggle. We struggle with everyone else our same age, then feel a part of our own generation. It makes us happier in the long run.
I don't think you are in a greencard romance, but to me age gap and greencard are similar. There is less love, more status and money.
She's learning a valuable trade. Before I die, she will have her captain's license, experience enough to operate any yacht for an owner or run this boat as a charter boat. Poor thing. "missed the starting gun", huh? She will meet many wonderful, interesting people out here after I'm gone and every single one of them will have a much richer, fulfilling life than those who got off at the bang of that starting gun you mentioned, and joined the rat race.
You haven't a clue of what you speak and your impressions seem based on your own bad experiences.
Status and money? Where? I wish! Love; we're just fine in that department, cause she sure ain't here for the money (ROTFLMAO) or the status! "There is less love, more status and money." is truly an ignorant statement and you did not seem that type.
Age has much less to do with the success of a relationship than many, many other factors.
Why are there so many mean women nowadays?
