  • Because it goes beyond what feminism is, that and I just don't much care for the label when I want human equality, not just equality for women.

And...I'm not quite as much of a sister as you might think...I was born a boy and though I'm not exactly one still I'm also not exactly a girl.

    • Well that explains a lot. In my experience the vast majority of m2f people take on all the "feminine" stereotypes feminists have been trying to break down for centuries.

As far as "equality" goes, I just have to quote an old bumper sticker from the 70's: Women who want to be equal to men lack ambition."

      • You're not wrong, I'm far more girly than most every girl I've ever met and I enjoy the super girly things that are stereotypical girl things. For instance Pink, I love like pastels and baby pink stuff. I like Lace and ruffles and those sorts of things. Skirts and dresses especially the overly feminine ones. It's not to say I'm basically taking a page out of the perfect housewife book or anything because there are lots of things I like that aren't stereotypical girl things or things that I just don't care for. For Instance I Like cars and working on cars and I suck at cooking and baking.

That being said however I don't think Equality is a wrong way to approach things either and your quote from the old bumper sticker is exactly the problem a lot of people have with feminism and how it is today. There are plenty that seek superiority and I refuse to support that.

        • The bumper sticker wasn't about feminists wanting to be superior to men, it was questioning the concept of women wanting to be "equal" in an exploitative inherently unequal system.
