Why are some people so annoying?

There are some people I find extremely annoying. Like I'm usually a polite person, but when I have to communicate with such people I'm very mean to them and I can't say I really like it, because I seem like a b*tch, which I usually am not. I have a colleague at work, she has done nothing bad to me, but I despise her. She's a bit childish and retarded in my option, and I can't stand her stupid comments all day. I've met other annoying people in my life before too, but now it's just her and I have to work with her every day it's very exhausting. And the most awkward thing is other colleagues seem to like her. Is it normal to be so annoyed by a person that has done nothing bad, but you just want to punch them in the face just because they breathe LOL Does that happen to you too with someone?

      Like for example a few days ago there was an earthquake here during the night. A strong one, you cannot miss it. And on the next day she asked if I felt it, and i was ironic and joked and I said: "no, I was flying in the sky by that time and didn't feel it" and she replied with belief with her annoying baby voice and stupid look "flying? how? where?". LOL she's retarded, I'm telling you. She really thought I was flying.. wtf.. and I'm listening to such retarded stuff all day long. Worst thing is she also makes retarded decisions at work.. idk how the bosses and other colleagues haven't noticed.

        So the girl is a little naïve & no match for your glaringly obvious towering intellect. She still has feelings & deserved to be treated with respect by everyone.

        By the way as you both work for the same company, on the same site I'm curious as to what you both do for a living?

          Oh come on. "A little naive"- she's retarded. Which normal person would believe such stupid thing. And it's not just that. She can never tell who's joking.
          And no, I wasn't all sarcastic and mean, I was joking and I smiled, because the joke was stupid.

          And she also makes dumb decisions at work, which is not cool.

          We're both in marketing, I'm a manager, she's not. But I cannot fire her. Only the boss of the company can. And once again I'm not a b*tch and I didn't go to him to make her look bad or tell him to fire her. I'm actually wondering what to do, because I don't think talking behind her back is cool, but work sometimes is hard, because she is slow as I said and some decisions are, well not absolutely devastating, but bad.

          Like once she had to translate live from Spanish to an audience of 500 people. We welcomed the guest on stage, the spanish girl goes on and talks in spanish in front of the audience and this dumb retard is missing.. She walks in the room, after 10 mins maybe and she's super chill. I remember someone even stopped her to ask something and she stopped and talked to them and then slowly continued on stage, while we all were going crazy.. For me this person is retarded. I hoped they would fire her after that, but they didn't...

            You have some dead wood at work that the boss will not fire. Who hasn't worked with laziness, ineptitude, cocky fuckers, people who need to be micro-managed or just good old-fashioned stupidity. You do your best with people, mentoring, training & anything else you can. If they aren't receptive they are performance managed straight out of the business.

            If you aren't happy with your working conditions why not find somewhere else.

        I don't think it's uncommon for someone to ask another person if he or she felt an earthquake, even if it was really hard to miss. I think your sarcastic tone toward her simply shows that you just plain don't like her.

        You know it's not uncommon for people to think sarcasm is rude, so maybe she knows you're being sarcastic, and just acts dingy to mess with you.

        I think the decent, and responsible thing to do here is to stop being so sarcastic, and see if things don't change at least a little bit. Maybe she is a little dingy or goofy, but it sounds like you're antagonizing her just because she annoys you, and you outright don't like her.

    Solution: stop being around them, avoid them. Its never possible for people to get along with everyone they meet in real life, just hang around with those you get along fine and cut ties with those that annoys you...

        Depends on how you are related to them. If its someone from your family and you are still dependent, then yeah its hard, move out when you are capable of living on your own. If its something else, feel free to share the details if you want...

    Well, if the girl you're talking about is annoying to you, just don't talk to her, or if you have to, at least be civil. Maybe she is mentally slow or however you want to say it, but it's not her fault. I recently took a job working with an autistic guy in his 30s. He's a nice guy but some things he does bother me at times, like wanting to see me every day, and almost completely glazing over the fact that I broke my leg this week because he wants to do body painting with me. My recovery is my top priority right now. But you know, he probably doesn't realize he oversteps or comes across as lacking empathy. Everybody has feelings.
