Why are people out of work on government shutdown?

  • Unfortunately most people in America especially government jobs lack the forsite to keep a savings account for just this kind of deal. I have a reserve savings to keep me alive and under a roof for four months if I get fired. If I was them I would pull a loan out pay for what needs to be paid and then repay it when the government shutdown ends, of course this is dangerous if you don’t know how long it will go so it’s really up to the person to decide what financial path to take but complaining about it on Twitter won’t help.

If you have that much financial backup I'm betting you'd be one of the few and most people couldn't afford to do that.

There are times where the government messes up in payment though and you can go a few pay periods without anything. I don’t live off of a paycheck because nothing is wrong with shaving 200 off per payment for a savings account.
