  • You kidding me? We're overpopulated enough as it is there would never be room for human immortals on this planet.

Celebrate life and death in the same vein. When my grandfather died, it helped me to spend time with my sisters newborn baby. For every end, there is a new beginning and that is the miracle of life.

  • This would be one pretty damn crowded planet if nothing ever died, don't you think?
Being afraid of dying is akin to being afraid to take your next breath. As you said; we all die. Therefore, it only makes sense to dream as though you'll live forever; live as though you'll die tomorrow.

  • Aside from the biological implications...evolution a result of propagating successful genes...life would be incredibly meaningless if it lasted forever. Why care about today when there are infinite tomorrows?

  • Mortality. If people lived forever, I imagine it'd get pretty boring and just tiresome.

  • Death is another part of life.

  • I used to battle suicidal feelings all the time. I've also had strange dissociative moments where I feel like this is all just a dream, I'm afraid of death, and full of dread.

I can honestly say that the more faith I put in a power greater than myself the better I feel. The better my relationship with the God of my understanding the less I dread living, fear dying and accept my life as being what it should be at this very moment.

  • We all must go back to that from which we came. Eternity is a vast, yawning blackness in which life is but a brief ray of light that comes as swiftly as it passes. We are brought into this world from nothingness, possessing no recollection of anything that came before us; we shall pass out of this world and into eternity, remembering nothing of this world as well. Does the arrow question why it must come to a halt? It is launched by no will of its own, and comes to an end soon enough. Such is life.

  • Because as far as evolution goes it's the most efficient way to reproduce. Therefore the organisms that can die with old age will become the most abundant ones.

Of course there are some species of animals that are biologically immortal, perhaps most famous of which being the Turritopsis dohrnii, also known as the Immortal jellyfish ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turritopsis_dohrnii )

  • yallre wrong

the correct question is why are peoples born to suffer and die while watchin innocent peoples and animals and plants round em suffer horrible pain and indignities and inhumanities and die for no reason?

  • It's because that is the way biology works.

  • If you did not die, you would live on Earth until the solar system exploded and then you would float in a dark, cold black boring space for a longer time than you spent on Earth. It sounds miserable.

  • I wasn't born to die. I was born to live. Death doesn't really exist.

      • One of an Epicurean variety, I would assume.

"Death does not concern us, because as long as we exist, death is not here. And when it does come, we no longer exist."

  • Only your body dies. Your consciousness moves on to another place.

  • Why not?

  • because it be too easy if we didn't die.
