Why are narcisisstic people and psychopaths so charming ?

I think it's because from an early age they learn how to manipulate people and get very good at it. This is the main skill that gets them through life, shying hard work and sometimes lacking intelligence. They are very good at reading people and so know exactly which buttons to push with someone. They absolutely despise people who see through them, though.

I dont think they are charming, they seems so false and insensitive. i suppose they are excellent actors and know exactly what you want to know .

I think they love themselves so much, they make you think you should love them as well

They behave as though they are superior, and believe it, so people go along with it.

I knew this narcissist. He was attractive, but not for me. Just too much -__-u

Depends on what type of insanity it could be what the first guy said or since they went insane they have already been to the depths of their mind so they understand them selves better and have more depth

They are naturals at charming people. They make you fall hard for them with their skills!!

It's not that they are charming, so much that narcisisstic people are really good liars and most psychopaths are borderline geniuses if they are not total geniuses. They usually don't do the things that they do to people all of a sudden or on a whem, they usually think about it and plan it out over a period of time first, kind of like how Batman always seems to think of everything and plans for every possible scenerio, those people do the same thing.

It depends on the person. Some are just very good at manipulating to get what they want.

And sometimes I think it's because someone sees the 'bad boy' attitude and likes it... because they want to be the one who tames him.

psycopaths veneer is very thin i think people notice soon enough. narcissists love them selves and rightyly so,lol. why are they so charming? cause theyr magic? carisma or synchronicity . wtfk? charming!!!

because these are classified as "jerks" and "assholes" and we allll know that girls are naturally attracted to these ;)

As a psychopath has no conscience they can either be downright rude to people or charming. I think the ones that are out-going and charming are able to do this coz they don't care what other people think. They don't care if they get caught out on their lying. They don't even care how false they seem to people who really know them and it is probably quite funny to them when the friends of their target warn them, and their target refuses to believe it.

The psychopaths I know who beat their wives etc are really good fun - maybe so that people won't believe the truth when it eventually comes out. It's a Jekyll and Hyde thing.

I think the best thing everyone can do is to tell what they do, like bullies, so people can stay away from them. Fore-warned is fore-armed.

It is all a lie. They just appear to have it under control. But in reality, they have emotions just like us. Maybe they're lacking something in life or hurt and bothered...therefore they act like passive aggressive A-HOLES.

Or at least that's what I've seen so far from encounters with these "narcisissts" in my personal experiences...

I wouldn't say I am either of them but I have been told to be very nice and have charisma. I lie constantly to people, made people choose me over their friends and quite a few more things. People think I'm so nice because they believe the lies. I wouldn't say I'm evil, just not nice.

This site is the only place that I actually have stated how I really act and think.

I would also like to say this "again" to you that narcissists and psychotpaths aren't the same thing so stop acting as if they are and get over this whole narcissitic and psychopath thing because this has got to be the fifth story/poll you have submitted and they are all the same.

People like me have a way of attracting attention, like you said.
We are self-obsorbed and are always improving ourselves to the social eye to get where we want to be.
That's why we're so damn charming. ;)

Well, almost everybody would like those qualities, they are universally thought of as positive traits. There isn't any special reason that they do it for, they just have it as an ability, and they use it because it works well for them. As to why they have those traits, which are less common in "normal" people, I have know idea. I don't think that anybody knows, but I'm sure somebody will correct me on that.
